Nicole Yun and Daniel Cundiff always pondered the decision of adding a third member, particularly a bass player, to their Virginia duo piece Eternal Summers. With the addition of Jonathan Woods, Eternal Summers sound musically adventurous. “Millions,” album opener and lead single of their second LP Correct Behavior, is a departure from their trance-pop deemed Best Coast archetype manner. The sound is sonically fulfilling, with variant interwoven guitar pieces laced with Nicole Yun’s soothing voice that at times channels a pristine Kim Deal or Betheny Constantino. While the dubbed dream-pop quota lingers, the sound is aesthetically mature compared to their predecessor and the progression is an effective development in their venture towards a recognition of more than just an indie-pop brand. Correct Behavior will be released July 24th through Kanine Records.
